GYM EXTRAVAGANZA

Gym Extravaganza is our annual end-of-the-year show! This is a totally optional and really fun event we put on each year where gymnasts ages three and up are celebrated for all the hard work they have been doing in classes! Because we are a non-competitive gym, Gym Extravaganza is a great opportunity for gymnasts to showcase for friends and family what they have learned and are learning during the year.

Monkey & Parent, Ninja, Boys Parkour, and Adult classes do not participate in this event, but all of our other gymnastics classes will begin learning routines on ALL of the events toward the end of April. On floor, they will learn a group routine with their class, and on the other events—bars, beam, tramp, and vault—they will learn routines that they will perform for their families and in front of just their class, so any shy performers out there have no need to be worried about who’s watching. All students will work on these routines and their gymnastics skills every week in class until Gym Extravaganza, giving them lots of time to prepare for their show! This year the theme is “Rock the Jukebox,” so all the floor routines will be set to songs from the 50s and 60s! 

Gym Extravaganza is all about YOUR child! You will get to rotate from event to event with your child’s class, so you will have front row seats for all of your gymnasts’ routines. Between rotations we also have fun performances from our Elites and Xcel team, so your gymnasts will get to see some fun, higher level routines that we hope inspire them! We finish off every show with each class coming up on the podium and receiving a medal for participating. We'll also be holding a silent auction throughout the showcase to raise money for new mats and equipment for all of our gymnasts! We'll have more details on that later, but the donation deadline for the auction will be no later than May 30.

Our Gym Extravaganza showcase will be held at The Gymnastics Connection the weekend of June 13 through June 15. Shows will be on Friday afternoon/evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. Each class will be assigned a timeslot on any of those days depending on participation numbers and coaching arrangements, so we won't have info on your child's exact timeslot until we get closer to the event. The final show schedule with all listed showtimes will be sent out separately no later than May 23.

We receive such excellent feedback every year from gymnasts and their families about Gym Extravaganza, and we understand how exciting and special it is for students to show everyone how they have grown as gymnasts! Now that we hold the event at our gym rather than offsite, we don't have to charge extra fees to offset costs, but each participating gymnast does still need to purchase a performance leotard (girls) or tank (boys). These outfits will have a custom design made just for our gym, so all the participating gymnasts can feel extra special at their performance. :) The cost for the outfit will be $50 flat. There will be no refunds or exchanges once these custom orders have been put in, so please make use of the samples we will have at the gym to ensure you are ordering the correct size. Order forms will be sent out next week and are due by March 22--once you turn in that form and make your payment, your child will be all set to join the show! We expect to pass out performance outfits the last week of May so kids can wear them during picture week, June 2 through June 7.
